In Partnership with Bellevue Community College - Business Division
 Multicultural Entrepreneurship and Consulting Course

Working on the Bellevue Entrepreneur Center project gave me the opportunity to apply what I had learned at BCC to a real world situation.  Our business advisors were very supportive and knowledgeable.  Through this project I gained a better understanding of the importance of creating a contract with defined deliverables, managing customer expectations, and the necessity of making adjustments as you gain a better understanding of your clients needs.  An unexpected benefit was what I learned from the other teams as we shared information during our classroom sessions.  More important than the grade I received was the confidence I gained and the satisfaction I felt knowing I made a valuable contribution to the small business community.  Thanks to this class I now have marketable experience that I can list on my resume.

This project is definitively going to bring me a lot in the future. I am going to be part of a business with my fiancée, and I had no experience in the domain. I learnt how to organize a project, how to cross the information, how to deliver a product on time, participate at a board meeting, how to deal with any problems, and finally how to present a project, a project plan, and additional documents which should be included. It is a remarkable experience; the best that I have ever had.

Just wanted to say thanx again for letting me join the class this quarter... it was by far the most rewarding college experience I have had to date.

I had to admit that when I first entered this class, I was a little clueless.  The class content was different than any other classes I have taken before, so I didn't really know what to expect.  As I got to know my group and client better, we started to research, plan, put pieces together and write a business plan. Even with the limited resources and time frame, we were able to deliver the project. Through this class, I received numerous opportunities to watch and learn how a small business operates. I got a chance to see first hand all the hard work that is needed to make a business successful.  With the knowledge and experience I gained from this class, it will definitely help me in the future.

To me, I thought the overall course was worth taking. I mean how many
classes do you take that allows you the real experience of working with a real business in the making? You get a feel of how the business world is like and what to expect when you're out there. Not only that but this was the first class where I got to utilized my skills. Not many classes allows you to do that. This is an opportunity that I think nobody should miss out on. I believe that I learn more in this course than I ever did in any of my other business related courses.

The group experience with my teammates was perhaps the most positive one of my entire degree program at BCC. I was impressed with the commitment level and dedication to quality demonstrated by each member. I believe this was in part a direct reflection of the high expectations outlined by our instructor and the curriculum. I highly recommend this course to any business student with a serious intention to excel.

My experience of the consulting class was incredible.  I had so much fun even though I was working crazy hours during the time.  It was well worth it and I would do it all over again.  To have hands-on experience with an ambitious real business owner, an adviser, and an awesome teacher to help our group with the process of consulting was an exciting, invaluable learning experience.  I would recommend this class to any one inspiring to be an entrepreneur.  Not to mention how enjoyable to work with the group and getting in the nose of the business owner's goals and business operation.

This class was a great learning opportunity for me, it helped me
fully understand the meaning of team work and how it would affect the
outcome of the project.  It also gave me a greater understanding of the
marketing world.  It also showed me that there is a great opportunity for
aspiring entrepreneurs if they need helped on getting started.

After taking the course I felt like I learned a lot. I learned the concept of how businesses operate. I also learned to identify problems and come  up with good solutions. The experience that I had working with Rachel was by far the best. I had never done a project like this. By taking this class I really learned a lot about myself as an individual. I learned that the business field is something that I will continue to pursue. This class really opened my eyes and made the class experience more enjoyable. Since this class was a hands-on experience I was able to learn and implement the little knowledge that I have and create a product which my team and I are proud of. I am grateful for our advisors Leslie and Tara for advising us throughout the project. They truly know how to share their knowledge and I am thankful that I had them to advise me throughout the duration of the project. With this being said, I am glad I enrolled into this class because it was a great experience. It allowed the class to deal with real people and it made us feel important knowing that we were helping a business build its foundation for future success.

I just wanted to thank you both for teaching me so much about business. I learned so much and now that I am getting ready to either start my own company or work for someone else I am looking at things in a whole new light. The funny thing is ever since I worked with Pocket Picks I have this thing of wanting to work with owners who are starting out or starting over. I feel that I can really help them and I owe that all to you both thank you very much.
